Portfolio Advisory
For private equity & family offices
Most portfolio companies plateau within eighteen months of acquisition. Yours don’t have to.
I partner with private equity firms and family offices as a fractional growth operator — embedded in your portfolio companies, building the systems that close the gap between acquisition thesis and actual performance.

The Gap
Capital solves the acquisition problem. It doesn’t solve the growth problem.
Most PE firms and family offices are exceptional at identifying undervalued businesses and structuring deals. The harder problem — turning a good business into a great one post-acquisition — requires a different skill set entirely.
Organic growth in service and trade businesses doesn’t come from capital injection. It comes from systems: referral engines, pricing architecture, retention mechanisms, and the operational discipline to execute them consistently. These are rarely in place at acquisition. They almost never appear on their own.
The result is a portfolio company that looks the same at year three as it did at close — solid, but not scaling. The thesis was right. The execution gap is the problem.
The Role
Not a consultant. Not an employee. A partner with skin in the game.
I work as a fractional growth operator, embedded directly into your portfolio companies on a retained engagement with performance upside tied to results. I build and implement the Better Growth System — a 21-step, five-phase growth methodology developed specifically for service and trade businesses — across marketing, sales, operations, and client retention.
My interest is aligned with yours: the business grows, or I haven’t done my job.
Diagnosis
A structured assessment of the portfolio company's current growth constraints — revenue leaks, pricing gaps, referral blind spots, and operational friction that's costing more than it appears.
System Build
Installation of the core growth infrastructure: referral systems, offer architecture, retention sequences, and positioning that competes on value rather than price.
Growth Execution
Active, hands-on implementation alongside the operator — not slide decks and recommendations, but built systems that function without me in the room.
Scale & Exit Readiness
Optimisation for valuation — the metrics, processes, and documentation that make the business demonstrably more valuable to the next buyer.
Proof of Concept
What the system actually produces.
A residential home services operator. Eight months of systematic implementation. The numbers below are real.
If there’s a portfolio company that should be growing faster, let’s talk about it.
Thirty minutes is enough to know if there’s a fit. No deck, no pitch — just a direct conversation about the gap between where your portfolio company is and where it should be.
